Convert to burnable DVD image now working.

by st373n on Aug.23, 2009, under FilmRedux

Converting a video file to a burnable dvd image is now working. Currently single files only will be processed and turned into a dvd image.  No other options in the dvd setting window have any effect yet but work continues on getting that whole section finished.  Also a couple of toolbar changes, some metadata settings, a tidy up of the included binaries, removal of a framework that wasn’t needed.

by st373n on Aug.19, 2009, under FilmRedux

The code for the video preview window is now operational and correctly plays video and audio for quicktime compatible files only. currently I have set it at 640 x 360. I may make this user resizable or  perhaps  match the values entered in the advanced settings panel.

mencoder

by st373n on May.29, 2009, under FilmRedux

Im compiling up a the latest svn of mencoder to include in the next build of FilmRedux, the current version thats inside the application bundle is now outdated and I have noticed that some of the files that fail to convert in the front-end ie FilmRedux also fail to convert manually from the command line, leading me to believe the one of the issues is with the included mencoder. While doing this I have added the Lame MP3 encoder into the build.

I would like to do away with the separate download of the codec support pack as I hope to get mencoder compiled with either some static libraries this time and include any additionals in a framework inside the bundle but will have to see how it goes.

Two Pass Now works correctly!

by st373n on Feb.14, 2009, under FilmRedux

Two pass encoding of files to Apple-device formats now works correctly, previous version were trying to read the wrong log file and then not doing the second pass correctly, this issue has now been addressed.  thank you to all those who noticed and let me know.

As such I was able to add the same functionality to the avi conversions and it is now possible to choose two pass for them too.
Once the avi code is finalized and works with all the possible options the next formats I plan to work on are the dvd outputs .iso video_ts and .vob

AVI code is now in the application at a very basic level and conversion of files to standard avi’s is now possible. The code needs some fine tuning to get all the advanced options in place. update is now available to download for 10.5 only!

Filmredux update 1.03

by st373n on Jan.28, 2009, under FilmRedux

This build of Filmredux now includes the universal mencoder, this should fix conversions for those of you on ppc & intel who were getting strange logs with base64 encoded text. The libx264 library is linked to this so a new support pack is up and will be downloaded by filmredux if needed. This build requires Mac OS 10.5 and is universal for ppc or intel.

Saving loading and clearing of settings in now functional at a minimum level.
mkv files now convert when changing the quality level slider.
Some additional placeholder functions have been added for the dvd section, detection has been added for burnable dvd, img, video_ts, vob,  & studio pro files, they will not perform any tasks yet.
This build has been tested on a both ppc and intel macs running Mac OS 10.5, A selection of avi & mkv files were  successfully converted to AppleTV and iPod 5G.
