v1.2.6 release
by st373n on Oct.05, 2009, under ReduxEncoder
This update contains a bug fix for the floating point exception bug when converting 1080 mkv files. Also the stitching order has been corrected when making ISO files from more than 1 video file.

“All my development is moving forward for Snow Leopard now…” = “Tough luck buddy, you’re screwed unless using system _we_ like!”?? That sounds very ‘Quicktime devs’ to me, so here’s hoping that’s not what you’re saying there, heh.
Or should I just cave & stick with the very limited but _functional_ VideoMonkey, then, hm? :p

lol no not at all, I would like the app to work as many systems as possible, the issue is with the changes in appletalk or my interpretation of them – not with the OS or Quicktime. Don’t get me wrong i’m not bashing appletalk I use it for lots of things but at some point you have to draw a line in sand or thing just don’t move forward. So my testing systems are 10.6 based, but the app will still be compiled as a universal, as should load on 10.5+ ppc or intel.

I get an error message that reads “Apple Script Error…Illegal comparison or logical. (-1726)” when trying to convert a .mov to .wmv file.

Hi, thanks for this great app! I would just like to let you know of a typo in one of the fields of Advanced Settings. In the MetaData tab, “Select a media file in the list to edit it’s metadata.” should read “Select a media file in the list to edit ITS metadata.” Hope you’ll find the time to correct this ugly but common mistake

Fair enuff… so why isn’t it _working_ for me, then? That’s really all I care about here, you know

Hey Iceland, I’ve taken another look at the code on 10.5 and hope to have them sorted in the next build.

That’s great news… pardon if I’ll hold the cheers until tried?

I’m glad to stumble on this evolution of VisualHub (if that’s actually what it is). I’m currently in the process of encoding .m2ts files (blu-ray streams) and have had limited success with Handbrake. The 2-pass h264 encodes in Handbrake are beautiful! But large streams really cause Handbrake to stall and result in mostly crashes. However the one noticeable advantage in Handbrake is the it’s audio options. It is able to perform an AC3 passthrough, or a discreet channel AAC encode, in effect preserving the surround sound track of the streams.
Am I missing something obvious, or does ReduxEncoder not support surround sound output when it comes to MP4 exports ?

Don’t know if you’ve seen this yet, but I converted 5 files last night on a new 27 inch quad core iMac. The first 4 were processed correctly and were placed in the common directory I specified. The last one was processed and placed in the same directory as the original file – contrary to the set prefs. Kinda weird.

That is wierd

I have tried every version of ReduxEncoder on 10.5.8 to convert AVCHD Lite files (.mts) from Panasonic ZS3 to mp4 H.264 format. All version produce Applescript Error divide by zero at start of conversion. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I am trying to use ReduxEncoder 1.2.6 on snow leopard on a newer Mac Pro Quad Core. I am trying to convert a .mkv video to a mp4. I keep getting this after I start it. In the info.
“The threads option must be <=8: 16
Error parsing option in the command line: -lavcopts"
I have searched in here first but have not found any answer what it means. This does look like a good replacement for Visualhub. Before I get to far can it convert mkv files with dolby digital 5.1 to the mp4?
Thanks much and Happy New Year.

I do convert a lot of .mkv files myself using it on a mac pro quad.
Currently the sound will be downsampled to 2 channel in the output file.
Try the AppleTV setting on Go Nuts and then change the extension from m4v to mp4 as that does the lavcopts differently it may solve it for you.
(see the post on m4v extensions)

Thank you for the feedback. Will there be a version that can convert the mkv ac3 surround to mp4 ac3 surround?
Thanks

Thanks have tried every product that can find and have not found one product so far that will do it. This site I was reading has interesting info but doesn’t seem to really resolve the issue either.
