Great program,

I wonder why this site is not listed among the top Google hits when searching for "free avi to ipod convert". Your program deserves much larger exposure.

A small suggestion that would make life easier for users like me who manage their files manually on their iPod: add an option to the "When I'm done" menu that copies/moves the converted video(s) directly to the iPod's Movies library (instead of the Mac's) in iTunes.

Thanks.

Hi wloczykij
I don't think that you can officially re-download since techspansion closed, though you may find it out there on the net, or perhaps on the techspansion forum if its still going.
Im not and never have been anything to do with them, (techspansion or kagi - hence I edited out your purchase details from your post for privacy)
ReduxEncoder is based loosely upon code that tyler released some time after their closure.

Hello,

I love Reduxencoder so far! I do have a question. Is it possible to passthrough dolby digital audio when encoding a movie to Apple TV format. I have the "Keep Surround track (if possible)" box checked, but I get a stereo AAC track when the encode is finished. After finishing the encode with Reduxencoder, I've been switching out the AAC track with the original Dolby Digital track from the source file using Quicktime 7, but it would be great if I could avoid this step. Thanks! Matt Foster

I have been experimenting with ReduxEncoder to convert MKV (high def) video to DVD burnable images. I am now using version 1.2.5 (1211) which is nice and fast, but for some reason, most of the videos are coming out with the aspect different than it should be.

Normally, I want 16:9 and it appears to be 16:9 in the finished video except everything is stretched to be skinnier as if it was trying to put 4:3 into a 16:9 window.

I found that if I burn the finished product to a DVD, I can change the settings on my Oppo DVD player to Letterbox which makes it look more like it should.

I am using a MacPro with 3GBs of RAM, plenty of hard drive space and QuickTime Pro to view the original MKV video and DVD Player to view the converted video. DVD Player doesn't have any settings to change the aspect of the video.

I am not changing any settings in ReduxEncoder except to add chapters and uncheck Simple Menu. Another odd thing--I just converted a 1:30 MKV video to DVD image using ReduxEncoder and it ended up a double-feature when I looked at it in DVD Player. The movie was stretched skinny and it had the full movie twice--if you were to play it from start to finish it would play twice. Again, I did nothing but add chapters every 5 minutes and uncheck Simple Menu.

Hi,

Great software. It seems like the some settings in adv settings for avi doesn't work. Size work, file size and 2 pass etc doesn't.

It's probably already posted, and soft is in beta but it could be good to know.

Thank you and I really hope that you will have the time and energy to keep the project upp!

I can't get version 1.25 64bit to work at all. All I get is can't divide 0 by 0. Running on Imac 7,1 with 10.6.1
