Convert to burnable DVD image now working.
by st373n on Aug.23, 2009, under FilmRedux
Converting a video file to a burnable dvd image is now working. Currently single files only will be processed and turned into a dvd image. No other options in the dvd setting window have any effect yet but work continues on getting that whole section finished. Also a couple of toolbar changes, some metadata settings, a tidy up of the included binaries, removal of a framework that wasn’t needed.

hi, i have been using visual hub until i saw filmredux was available. i downloaded it and install it but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work. the avi or mpeg loads ok into the interface and the setting only allow me to use te apple presets and then whe i press start i get an error message “errors during conversion’ then, “errors prevented every conversion from completing. select a file in the list and click the info bar button to view the specific error”. then “click the show log button for detailed information”.
i was wondering if you might know why filmredux isn’t working properly, any help or advice would be really appreciated.
thanks michael

Hi,
The only conversions that work are those to the Apple Formats, Partial AVi, WMV and DVd support, the rest of the program has not been written and should be treated like a BETA.
The question regarding formats has been asked and answered multiple times before, but in summary if they are not coded into the application then they are not selectable in the GUI.
However in the case of the error your receiving you MUST have the support codecs installed for anything to work. FilmRedux will prompt you to install them on its first launch, if you want to manually download and install them there is a link at the footer of the blog page.
Please email me the log file if your sure you have them installed and i can investigate further. Send logs to st373n at gmail dot com

Just want to left a Thank you!
I found your ReduxEncoder application after days of ineffective search, my problem was to convert .mkv movies purchased on filmous.com in playable dvd. Filmredux like many others stopped after few seconds with some Apple script error. Yours seems to execute the conversion without exitation. Nice work.
