Once I have worked out all the various cli parameters to pass to mencoder for FLV/SWF it will be included, I hope to get as many formats working as possible,
FilmRedux is only a GUI for passing the necessary commands to the backend and it uses mencoder for that, where as most of the other app’s out there use ffmpeg. Since mencoder includes most of the ffmpeg libraries there are a huge number of formats that should be able to be supported.
Hi donations towards hosting and server costs are always welcome, but I’m not asking for donations for filmredux as the code comes from open source roots and that would just be unethical. However who knows what other projects may come forth…
Great to hear that your finding the application useful
hi st373n
really appreciate your work!!
but i would like to implement in reduxencoder the xgrid functionality!!
do you think is it possible?
i have used the old visual hub with xgrid and it was amazingly fast, but when it came 10.6 it didn’t work anymore.
can you help in this (even only with suggestions on how to do that)?
thanks a lot for any reply!

Ditto on the flash support! I can’t wait till it works. I just upgraded to snow leopard and visualhub keeps giving me an error 1728. Anyone know how to fix this? Please shoot me an email @: hybridsoul85@hotmail.com

Hi, thx for work on FilmRedux, only app on Mac to encode some video formats…
What are your plans/schedule for FLV/SWF encoding feature in FR?
i think FR is the only app who actually could do it on mac.
thx

I am glad that somebody else is working out all the parameters for me, i just looked in and that was just enough for me…

Are you working on that already, or, what is your format preference in which you add them?

I’d like to add a “ditto” on the Flash / FLV / SWF formats. Glad you’re working on it. It was a good product to have around.
Tried to convert to FLV tonight and realized it wasn’t working at all in that dept yet.
Thanks again.

Hey st373n,
I was wondering if there is any chance you are planning on making this open source?
I love the program how it is, but for some projects im doing i want to make a stripped down version of this. kind of like how iSquint was.
I would really appreciate it even if you want to talk privately about it.
Thanks

Hey Lars,
The unmodified source for the transcoder redux project is on sourceforge and should contain everything you need to get started.
You may also like to download the sources of mencoder and ffmpeg and compile those to your specific requirements.
