by st373n on Jan.28, 2009, under FilmRedux

This build of Filmredux now includes the universal mencoder, this should fix conversions for those of you on ppc & intel who were getting strange logs with base64 encoded text. The libx264 library is linked to this so a new support pack is up and will be downloaded by filmredux if needed. This build requires Mac OS 10.5 and is universal for ppc or intel.

Saving loading and clearing of settings in now functional at a minimum level.
mkv files now convert when changing the quality level slider.
Some additional placeholder functions have been added for the dvd section, detection has been added for burnable dvd, img, video_ts, vob,  & studio pro files, they will not perform any tasks yet.
This build has been tested on a both ppc and intel macs running Mac OS 10.5, A selection of avi & mkv files were  successfully converted to AppleTV and iPod 5G.

mencoder universal build

by st373n on Jan.26, 2009, under FilmRedux

One of the components behind Filmredux is mencoder and the version in the current build was for intel’s only, causing conversions to fail on non-intel mac’s. This has now been compiled as a universal binary and will be available in the next Filmredux release, if you just want the file for now to drop into the filmredux app its here.

mkv file conversion now works in FilmRedux

by st373n on Jan.25, 2009, under FilmRedux

The mkv problem was something that had been going on for a while – the quality slider was causing issues when converting a mkv file, setting it to anything other than lowest option caused a floating point exception, well finally changed the code to fix this issue. Now all quality levels are functional for any of the Apple devices. Use Check for updates to get this version.

by st373n on Jan.24, 2009, under FilmRedux

In response to requests for 10.4 support, in the filmredux support package a release is now available that supports both 10.4 and 10.5 on ppc or Intel macs. If you have already got the support pack installed then you don’t need to download this as there are no changes to its contents other than building it as a Universal Binary of libfaac. If you need the universal build grab it here

Well my time with filmredux is going well,. Have added the App Icon, put in a check for the library files with a window to auto download them if needed, Seems all the conversion to apple formats are working already the others need a bit of work. sparkle update has been uploaded so your versions will update to, (if your using my build of it) same link as before :) All my files are now signed with a self signed cert, so sparkle can verify them etc.

Farewell VisualHub Hello FilmRedux

by st373n on Jan.05, 2009, under FilmRedux

Well Visualhub has sadly departed but they released some open source code called FilmRedux.

So I grabbed the code and fired up my copy of xcode, although  not complete by a long way the application is looking nice. Not may features work but I’ve been tinkering with it and have got the drag-and-drop issue working, so at least files can now be added to the queue, sparkle is working, and a help-book holding page.
To download this build of filmredux click here and for the necessary support files here
